Appy is a fairly unique business incubator. We are tech partners to non-technical founders, but also get involved on the commercial side of making businesses successful.

We’re practitioners, not theorists, meaning we get involved in creating our own ventures too - leveraging our experience to short cut learnings for ourselves and our partners.

Over the years we’ve been involved in lots of ventures, some more successful than others (including 1 exit), and at all stages, we’ve learned tons.

On a day-to-day basis, the core of our work is looking to create optimised User Journeys (from someone that’s never heard of you to becoming an ambassador for a business), which is usually achieved through building scalable and automated tech.

Javascript developer role description

The Javascript developer will be responsible for implementing the interactive part of web applications. You will work with websites and web apps, producing front-end and back-end applications (NodeJS), performing code analysis and overall improvement of usability and functionality.

Our ideal candidate might have some of the following skills:

• Minimum of 3 years of working experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, including backend and frontend.
• Experience with backend-focused JS (eg: Node JS - big bonus, Express).
• Experience with modern JS frontend frameworks (eg: React, Vue, Angular - big bonus).
• Experience with modern JS tools (Babel, current ECMAScript standards).
• Experience with statically typed languages or typing tools for JS (TypeScript, Flow, Elm).
• Experience with git and team collaboration with git.
• Experience with JS testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha).
• Experience with frontend building tools (Webpack, Gulp, Grunt).

Nice to have:

• Experience with databases (SQL, or NoSQL).
• Experience with ElectronJS
• Experience with Docker
